Authorities say 38yr old Randy Pearce was arrested on Friday in Salem County. Court records allege the incidents occurred in late March. This Gloucester Township Police Officer was charged with first and third degree offenses tied to a sex abuse materials investigation. Authorities say to have uncovered recordings of a nude child in a bathroom on multiple occasions.
Public payroll records show Pearce served as a Gloucester Township Police Sergeant with an annual salary of $160,117. ABC 6 reported that Pearce also served as a School Resource Officer.
According to reports, the GT Police department is directing all inquiries to the prosecutor’s office. Mayor David Mayer, is quoted as being aware of the situation and the arrest and cannot comment further on the specifics.
